The System Event Viewer on my member servers (6) are not logging entries...even after a reboot. The Application and Security Viewer are working correctly. The System Event Viewer on my PDC & BDC are working correctly. Anyone have any ideas about why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it? NT4, Sp6a

Seems odd that it's effecting multiple servers at the same time... have you reached the maximum log file limit and selected not to overwrite events?

That's strange but consider the following...

In my System event log, the only events I usually see are Print notifications and the occasional hardware, DHCP and WINS warnings.

If none of your member servers are print servers or DHCP/WINS servers then you might not see anything at all during some periods.

The Windows NT4 Server help file states that the system log will contain entries such as info on drivers failing to load or other dodgy system components not working properly.

If nothing is wrong with your servers, then you should hope to see as few entries as possible.

Let me know if you were seeing entries prior to posting your message.

Regards,
