System defaults in VFP 8

I am noticing that I have to continually set system defaults in VFP 8 when I didn't have to in VFP 7. I am constantly having to enter "SET TALK ON" and "SET STATUS BAR ON". Is there some variable that I need to set within Windows? Any suggestions?

This hasn't changed in VFP8. What probably happened is that you had a CONFIG.FPW before that set these for you. Create a new config file with the settings you want.
