New to Sun OS...

1. How do I clear system cache?

2. I cannot able to install third party product on my solaris machine and the message show " memory allocation problem", so how do I solve this problem?

Any tips ...Thanks in advance..

sync will flush any unwritten contents of the filesystem buffer cache to disk, but will not free up any additional memory.

Is the system very busy? If you do a vmstat 5 2 is the value in the 'memory free' column on the last line very small? Have you got enough swap space? swap -l will list your swap devices and how many blocks are free on them.

If all of these are fine it may be a problem with the third party application itself. Annihilannic.
