I'm running a Dell server with Netware 4. Occasionally, on console, I see this:

System Backplane Firmware 5.24 Out Of Date

Problem is, I can't find any information about this on novell's site, let alone an update for the firmware. Any information provided is appreciated. Thank you.

Ted

Are you running any Dell utilities on the server? This would usually indicate that the firmware of maybe the motherboard is out of date? Check on the Dell website to ensure your firmware is up to date. -----------------------------------------------------

I'm kinda curious as to why this would come up anyways. Nothing has been altered on this server in over a year. I mean what reason would it have for saying firmware is out of date, any firmware for that matter.

And i'll look into an updated firmware for the MB thank you.

If it is anything like Compaq, it may reference a library that (after a period of time) may remind you to upgrade your firmware. Compaq uses Insight Manager, maybe this is Dell's version?? -----------------------------------------------------
