system 9 multi user printing

I have a classroom full of power macs that have multi user restricting students full access . After a while the printers no longer print to the hp 2100 TN . If I delete the printer off the desktop and place it back the fault goes until it comes back later . The settings are laser writer - generic settings . Does anyone know why this occurs ?

The macs lose the connection or where the printer is on the network. Rebuild the macs desktop. Option + Command on startup this will help big time.

Thanks Mathew for the advice . How do you set up option + command on startup ? I am new to apple Mac's and I am unsure how to set up option + command on startup .Is it part of multi user settings or is it in a startup menu option?

no hold down the keys option and apple(command)and check for updates beacuse where a lot for printer and os 9 So long and thanks for all the fish.

I'm wondering about the spool settings in the multi-user environemtn.
It is my understanding that you must change the defaults so the printer can access the file under multi-user.

But you r question seemss to imply that the mac DO print and then stop functioning to the print que - is that right??
