I am having problems with my start up. System 32 folder opens when logging on to windows XP. I found a KB that the resolution was to use the Registry Editor to view registry keys for null entries. I also tried to run msconfig to see what was in the start up tab.

The problem is that I can’t open the regedit or msconfig from Run; it just flashes and then goes away.
The same thing happens if I try to open Event Viewer or Computer Management in Administrative Tools or Device Manager from the Hardware tab of System Properties. It just flashes and then goes away.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks

Pat
