Hi

Ive created a Windows XP Pro sysprep ghost image which works fine when a PS/2 mouse and keyboard are used. The desktop manufacturer recently started shipping USB mouse and keyboards which are now causing me issues. When SYSPREP first runs, I cannot key in a computer name as the keyboard and mouse are not detected (cant move mouse or type anything on the keyboard). I think the PNP part of sysprep occurs after I key in the computer name.

Does anyone know if there is a way I can get around this?? The initial sysprep image was created with PS/2 keyboard and mouse on the system..

Thanks
Anthony

try the bios setting for usb , you might have to tweak your units bios to recognize usb on boot

Hi

There is nothing in the BIOS for that.. The BIOS can see the Keyboard as the keyboard works when I go into the BIOS - it only fails to when sysprep starts as it cannot detect USB at that point. If I plug a PS/2 keyboard in and reboot, sysprep works fine but this defeats the point as all new hardware we get now is USB..
