I'm having trouble opening Progression Explorer. We are running Macola 7.5.103F with Pervasive.SQL 2000i SP3. The problem first started after a Network Hub failed. We tried to open Progression Explorer and it came back saying System Error: File SYSPASS.BTR is not open (from a win98 machine). I have tried reinstalling on a Win2000 machine and it doesn't work for her windows login. It will work under a different login on the same machine. Oddly enough, it will also work on a different win98 machine, but not a different win2000. I am trying to get rid of 98, so this is not a permenant solution. The pervasive test db works fine. The drives are mapped correctly. Any ideas on how to fix this?

What its looks like when the hub failed she was logged and currupted her user. First of all first, log off all user and delete m:\Macola75\Usersdelete all files in this directory, This is the temp files the system makes every time a user logs. Then try to enter her user again.
Is this doenst work try deleting and creating her user again becauser her user was corrupted on the SYSPASS.BTR file.

Any more info you want please contact me.

I tried deleting the temp files. I also deleted the user. With the user deleted, I still recieve the error, Syspass.btr not open. This error occurs before the login screen. I will try deleting the windows user portion and see if that works.

Thier sounds to me there are local btrieve component's on this machine. Check for wb*.* on that machine running win2000

Yes, we actually do keep a local copy of btrieve running on the machine because our Point of Sales Saftware uses Btrieve 6.5. I don't know how to force it to use Pervasive instead of Btrieve. I was able to clear the error by deleting the Windows Login on the server. I'm wondering if their will be future complications because of running both versions on the same machine.

JTurner-

I have worked with workstations with 2 versions of btrieve -one for macola and one for Dun & Bradstreet. I had to hve two bti.ini files, and I stored them in a safe place. The macola icon and thge D&B icon pinted to a batch file that copied the proper bti.ini file to the workstation, and THEN launched the app.

I hope this helps

Thank you, I will keep that in mind in case I have any more problems.
