Syslog Statistics (script, PHP)

I am a very basic user of Red Hat Linux 9.0 and previously we were using the Kiwi Syslogger to send out e-mails every night about the "talk talkers" on logging syslog messages. This was very handy in our Cisco enterprise network. We now want to migrate to Red Hat Linux for our syslogging (Cisco, NT, Windows 2000 servers will send Event Logs here too) but we haven't been able to find like a script or program to make statistics like Kiwi syslogger did. Does anyone have any links or ideas on how this can be accomplished. Keep in mind, I am no Linux guru, I've had to do a lot of self-discovery just to get his far. ;-)
