syslog.conf for AIX

We are looking for a good syslog.conf on AIX 4.3.2 and higher.
When we put the following entry, every few minutes it writes to the log file for rpc.statd entry and then file become very large with in a day. We are rotating the file once it becomes 3 MB to avoid /var getting full.

*.err;kern.debug;mail.crit /var/adm/messages rotate size 3m time 1w files 4
