On the Merlin Legend system, the MLX-10 phones have a
'SysAcc-00 ring' above the 'SysACC Voice' & 'SysAcc Ring' buttons.
Can anyone tell me it's purpose, and do I really need it ?

The SysAcc-00 ring is an orginate button. It will not work for inbound calls.(so it does not have to be set to ring) You need it if you recieve a second call & want to transfer it away. In the Merlin Legend/Magix you need a second SA button for the split second you transfer the call away. This button is restricted to outbound only.

It never receives calls, but allows you to place calls out, OR, if all your other SA voice and ring buttons are occupied, and you need to transfer one of them, you're going to need one more SA button to get into the system. So it's usually a good idea to have it on there.

If you need it or not dependes on if you have direct lines apperances or not, & how many calls you recieve, & transfer.

So It's up to you. I have set them up both ways. And I can think of good reasons for both.

10 buttons phones with lines & some speed dials, & features, would be a good reason to remove it.

DID calls & autoattendent would be a reason to keep it.

I hopethis helps
