I created a object level program unit which opens a cursor with SQL query that contains SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH FUNCTION(...,...).
I get error: 'Identifier CONNECT_BY_PATH must be declared).
In SQL*Plus query works no problem?

Report Builder PL/SQL is usually several versions behind that used on the DB side. Consider writing DB stored program unit and calling it from the report program unit.

Can I do that from inside Reports 9i using external pl/sql library feature?
or just outside Reports 9i?

thanks,

AFAIK, external libraries are still parsed with the Report Builder PL/SQL. So you would better do it on the DB end.
