Would anyone know what this error means? I am on Novell 3.2 and got this message in my sys$log file numerous times today.
7/22/02 11:56:21 am Severity = 0
1.1.69 Station 18 record lock threshold exceeded. Total violations 1.
Then it repeats every minute or so, no set amount of time, from 1 minute to 4 minutes with Total violations increasing until 3:45pm total violations was 915995?
Thanks for any help

thanks. All the info I have gotten on the internet points to setting these in the autoexec. On Novell 3.2, if there are not any settings in the autoexec, means they are set at the default right? there is not any other place find them right?

Basically, its a SET Parameter that can be dealt with from either the AUTOEXEC.NCF or STARTUP.NCF, or from the Console...

Type in SET, select the number associated with LOCKS, which is 6, and you should see all of the SET Parameters for that catagory.

Good Luck!

Thanks so much for your help. I changed the settings today and will monitor it for a while.

The cause will be a data base reindexing on the lan (MSACCESS). Find the culprit and ask him how many records are being accessed in the database. Then set your lock in monitor just a bit higher. I had to max mine out to cover us.
