Does anybody know how to deal with sys(3050,1) and if necessary sys(3050,2) on a generic basis so that memory adjustment will be accurate regardless the machine/system. This is for an "off-the-shelf-software". I don't have the convience of fine tuning the app per machine.

Thanks

This appears to be an OS based problem. I came up with a "solution" that seems to work fine under Win95 (the original) and NT, but not on later versions of 95, 98, SE, and ME. (I haven't tested it under 2000 yet, but presume it would be close to the NT results.) It's based on using the real available memory at any given time, unfortunately the "bad actors" seem to always acquire most all of the available memory for their own use, so there doesn't appear to be simple solution - yet. For details on a presentation I did at our user group recently, go to and download the appropriate files if you are interested.
