Hi!
I'm installing Network Node Manager 6.2 on a W2K machine. Unfortunately, JAVA 1.3 is required for this system, and previously installed software has linked the CLASSPATH to this Java 1.3 installation.
ovrequestd, from what I have gathered through my searching, is incompatible with this version of Java and will not run. I have found that if I add the location of the NNM included java installation to the BEGINNING of the CLASSPATH env variable, ovrequestd will, in fact, run. However, I don't want to permanently change the CLASSPATH, as this could mess up other software on the system.
ovrequestd allows you to set a specific CLASSPATH by using the -c option. So, I want to add this to ovrequest.lrf so that it always runs this way. However, I have been unable to get the syntax correct, and I've been unable to find any examples in the manual or on the forum.
So, if anyone could give me some guidance on how to use the ovrequest -c command to add an extra location to the BEGINNING of CLASSPATH, I would be very grateful!
Oh, and before anyone jumps on me, I HAVE been running ovaddobj every time I've changed the lrf file
BTW, Sorry for the length of this post, but I wanted to make sure I was clear.
Thanks,
Giles
