Hello everyone..
I have an ACCESS 97 database that I saved as .mde. Now I had to make changes to the original database. The data in the .mde database have been updated. How can I get the data from the mde db over to the mdb. I am planning on using the mdb from now on. Does anyone know how I could do this without manually editing the tables??

Hi

The longterm solution to this is to 'split' the database into 'front end' and 'back end'. The FE contains the forms, reports, queries etc, the BE contains the tables with the data. The FE is linked to the BE tables using the files \ get external data \ linked tables option

In this way you can maintain the FE 'offline' and juts 'plug in' a new version without having the problem you have now encountered.
