We are on GM 6.0 and using Cystal 8.5.

When we modify a report does it sync to the dbase users when they sync? If so, what is the process for setting this up correctly? We currently distribute the new reports via email, but there must be a better way.

Thanks.

MAke a new contact record just for the reports and link the report(s) to that record. Keep a close eye on the paths and where they end up on the reportes (probably \tmplinks) and adjust report properties accordingly... :)

Hi,

If its a GoldMine report you've updated and you've updated the description in the reports area then it should synchronise out anyway.

PS: Hi Doug, hows it going.

Hi

We to use Goldmine 6.0 and Crystal 8.5 but our server is using SQL and sync sites are still on Dbase (so that chuffs the job totally) however when I make a change to the Reports server end, the get synchronised out to the sites automatically - I don't think we've ever set it up to do that it just does it, (although it's no use to them even when the server was using dbase cos as you say the paths are different - To counter this I had two sets of reports server and site)

Not much help to you, but just thought I'd let you know it can be done through synchronisation

Cheers

Chris

I wonder if crystal reports not edited from within GoldMine (via the LAYOUT button) are also synchroniized or if they depend on the edits being made via this route... Linked documents behave this way...

Chris,

Move the laptops to MSDE instead of dBase. Laptops are the most problematic machines and the most in need of SQL style database ie power saves etc can really screw with dBase.

Then you can just use an ODBC connection to the database.

Richard.
