I have a user in my company (the boss) who is using Windows XP and Office XP on his laptop, and I haven't been able to get the company address book to download when he does a synchronization. All the mail folders synchronize fine, but it fails to download the offline address book. Here's a clip from the synchronization log:

13:05:50 Synchronizing Hierarchy
13:05:51 Synchronizing Favorites
13:05:51 Synchronizing Folder 'Inbox'
13:05:51 Synchronizing Folder 'Sent Items'
13:05:51 Synchronizing Folder 'Calendar'
13:05:51 Synchronizing Folder 'Contacts'
13:05:52 Synchronizing Folder 'Drafts'
13:05:52 Synchronizing Folder 'Journal'
13:05:52 Synchronizing Folder 'Notes'
13:05:52 Synchronizing Folder 'Tasks'
13:05:53 Synchronizing Folder 'Deleted Items'
13:05:53 Synchronizing Views
13:05:53 Synchronizing Forms
13:05:54 Done

I have exactly this problem - as do others (good to hear).
Can you take this thread and put it in:
Exchange 2000 -
Cannot Download Offline Address Book to Outlook2K

as it is already being discussed

What steps did have you done already?

* Make a new OST file?
(carefull with current OST and the data in it make a backup)

* Download the address book separate from the folders

* Is there a folder in the OST which is online if so then make it avaible offline

Here are more details to clarify things:

Previously the errors were on my exchange 2000 server (SP2)
on windows 2000 (SP3) but these are gone - I have set event logging on maximum for OAL Generator and there are no errors.

On the outlook 2000 end I have tried this on several PC's that have a fresh install of Windows 2000 / Outlook 2000 - using several accounts, so have not needed to recreate the OST - but I have deleted the old OST anyway on one PC - no help!
I have also tried downloading the address book seperatly - no luck there either!
I have now tried making all folders in the OST available offline as you suggested above - still no luck!

MORE INFO - when selecting the offline address book from the synchronise options there is no address book listed, I imagine this is a symptom I share with the others having this problem.
Do you have any more ideas?

My problem is now fixed, see :
