Synchronizing Outlook calendar, no categories 1

When I try and synchronize my iPaq 3970 to any computer I'm unable to select any categories in the settings option for calendar as there aren't any??

I just want to synchronize business appointments and leave the private ones alone. However there are no options under the "Synchronize only those appointments in the following selected categories" option.

Most of the appointments in my calendar on my iPaq and desktop machines have categories selected. I'm synchronizing to 2 computers.

You have to sync it first without any categories selected: after that's been done once you should be able to choose categories.
