Synchronizing events prior to and after Netbackup jobs

Hi there,

We are currently in the midst of migrating to NetBackup Datacentre V4.5 running on Solaris 9.

We have several OpenVMS servers running Oracle db and apps. On a nightly basis, we execute a batch job that performs an export of the database and the backs up the export file to tape and then sends email to the DBA indicating success or failure.

I'm wondering how we could perform the same steps using NetBackup?

BTW, we don't plan on using the NetBackup Oracle agent (at least at this point).

Any ideas, hints, etc would be appreciated!

Yes, using mail notifications and PRE/POST scripts (managed by bp_start_notify and bp_end_notify scripts).

Must be explained in the admin guide.
