My assumption is that what i want to do won't be a problem, but here's the details:

I have an old server and a new server.
The old server is what the website currently runs on.
The new server is where we're entirely redeveloping the website.
We have made a replica as of 9/1/05 on the new server to work from.
We are making new tables on the new server.
We will need to synchronize on 11/15/05.

What will happen to the new tables? Will they be overwritten? This is the first time I have worked with two different copies of the same DB like this.

Thanks,
J

It depends on how to synchroize. If you backup the old server and restore to the new server then all new info in the new database will be lost.

The easiest way is a backup and restore. This is why you don't let people use the new server until the old server has been powered down and the data migrated.

Assuming that the old server is still production, you'll want to DTS over any new objects from the new server to the old server then backup the old server's databases and restore them to the new server.
