synchronize PST files in outlook 2000

I am trying to figure out how to synch 2 pst files. I am not using a Corporate version through Exchange, otherwise I would use an OST. I use my Oulook email via POP3 to access my company's Lotus Notes Mail, as well as tasks and appointments. My original goal was to access this same PST file from home via DSL and VPN, but the file seems to be way too big for that (360MB) and makes the system unstable. Anyone got a suggestion?

one other quick question. Can you compress a PST file without the corporate version?
