Hi,
I use Outlook Express on my office desktop and Outlook 2007 on my laptop. I have one POP mail account. On weekends I wish to check mail from home on my laptop but once it is downloaded to my laptop it no longer downloads to my office desktop PC and vice versa. So I end up with both mail boxes having missing mail.
I have been using the "leave mail on the server for 3 days" method and making sure I check mail on each PC within the 3 days. Not always feasible though, is there a better way of synchronising the two mailboxes so that they both show ALL my mail ?
Many Thanks
John

Can you connect to your mail host using imap rather than pop?

They should have a FAQ on their site somewhere and instructions

Not sure whether I can connect on imap, never tried it, what would the difference be ?? What are you leading to ??
Thanks for the reply !!

You'd have to configure POP3 on your work machine to leave mail on the server, instead of downloading it.

Then, you can configure your laptop to download it.

IMAP does nothing for you here. Just like POP3, it's an outdated protocol.

That's what I'm trying to get around, leaving emails on the server, then using a second PC (laptop) to download them - when I go back to the desktop at the office and download mail, the ones I downloaded on the laptop are missing...!!
I wanted to ensure that both PC's receive ALL mail...!!

Don't I need MS Exch Server to use OWA, which I gather is a "webmail" version of Outlook. Or am I mistaken ??
Apologies if I'm being thick, had never heard of OWA till you mentioned it...!!

Yes, you'd need Exchange to use OWA.

There are settings in both Outlook and OE to leave mail on the server.
