Synchronization Failure: Record is deleted

After returning from a week of vacation, I tried to synchronize my design master (tables only) with my replica (tables only). The synchronization got about half-way finished when an error message popped up: "Synchronization between replica [my design master] and replica [my replica] failed. Record is deleted."

Since the replica had the most current data, I tried to make a new replica from my replica (which I was going to turn into a new design master) and got this error message: "Microsoft Access can't make an additional replica at ...... Cannot make a new replica because the tblJobOrder object in Tables container could not be made replicable."

In the design master, the tblJobOrder has always been replicable and has always replicated before, although I haven't tried to create a replica from the replica recently.

I then tried to create a new database and import all the tables into the new database, but when it got to tblJobOrder, it would not import it, and gave me this message: "Record is deleted."

So I copied the replica using Ctrl C and pasted it into the same folder. Then I tried to compact and repaire this copy. It produced a db1-damaged.mdb as well as a compacted copy, and the compacted copy said it had all sorts of synchronization conflicts in numerous tables. I hadn't even tried to synchronize!! When I tried to view the conflict tables, it said there were none, although twenty or more tables had been created, full of records that no longer appeared in the tables. I can manually open the conflict tables, and I've printed out copies of all the records just in case...

This compacted copy would synchronize with the design master, but it also replicated all the conflict tables, which cannot be viewed in the design master's "conflict resolver" either.

Since people needed to work, I restored from backup, but the problem is not resolved; I'm just back a square one, this time with a corrupt design master, as well.

Anyone have any ideas what has gone wrong and how I can recover a decent replica and then create a new design master?
