We have a persistent issue with ERCO 274 Digital Trunk Clock Malfunction (SLIP) between our MD network and a 3rd party PBX which is a macfarlane Callplus server running on Windows 2003.
We have 8 x DPNSS circuits connected directly from 5 Lims (TLU76 cards) tyo the Callplus Server whuich uses Aculab Dialogic cards. (both housed in the same Exchange room so no external telco circuits)
We are constantly seeing ERCO274 across all 5 LIMs including an ERCO25 on one of the Lims.
The circuits are "split" into 3 x DPNSS for outbound route only (calls to Callplus) and 5 x DPNSS for inbound only (agent login and transfer to back office only)
When i shut the Callplus down all the SLIP errors disappear and the MD network is stable.
The supplier (Macfarlane) are saying they need to take their clock source from one of the DPNSS circuits.

Two questions:-
1. Does the MD automatically send clock source out on the DPNSS?
2. is there a way of getting the MD to ignore the alarms if not?

The two routes are set as follows:-
Outbound to Callplus
ROU TYPE VARC VARI VARO FILTER
201 TL50 H'00000001 H'00000000 NO
ROU SEL TRM SERV NODG DIST DISL TRAF SIG BCAP
201 0030000000000010 5 2110030000 0 30 128 00151515 111100000011 111100

Inbound from callplus
ROU TYPE VARC VARI VARO FILTER
202 TL50 H'00000001 H'00000000 NO
205 TL50 H'00000001 H'00000000 NO

ROU SEL TRM SERV NODG DIST DISL TRAF SIG BCAP
202 0100000000000010 5 2110030000 0 30 128 00151515 111100000011 111100
205 0100000000000010 5 2110030000 0 30 128 00151515 111100000011 111100

cheers Guys

please show the printouts of these commands:

CADAP;
SCEXP;

you get the SLIP alarm due to misconfiguration, ie. both sides setup as master.

try changing the MD110 side, test these values:

VARC=00000000
VARC=00000008
VARC=00000009

Hi whosrdaddy

i have changed master syncs with no luck (neither of these lims are connected to the Callplus, we are looking at Lims 22,23,28 and 54)

Hi,

You are getting slip on these links because the 2Mbit link coming back from the Callplus Server is not synchronised to the MD110 oscillator.

Since your MD110 has other digital links and is synchronised to them, (as shown by SCEXP) your only option is to configure the Callplus Server to receive synchronisation from the MD110.

You can get the MD110 to not raise the 274 alarm by ALDAR however the slip will still be there.

Hi himdp
thanks for your input.
i understand the problem with the synchronisation and there is no way i would aldar an alarm out thats just too dangerous. the problem we have is that we provide multiple dpnss (8 at present) links to this callplus and the 3rd party company seem to be having problems identifying which of these circuits to sync from.
we provide these dpnss circuits across more than one lim (for resilience purposes)

my question is simply can the 3rd party supplier actually take a sync from one of these circuits?

sure, sync is provided on digital links (PCM)

sync path should always be : PSTN -> PBX -> APPLICATION.

your MD110 is setup als L1 and L2 master (which is correct), so play with the settings on the callplus side.
