Can I get SK98 to synch with a Visor through the USB, or do I have to buy a serial cradle?
I have followed directions on the Starfish site as directed, uninstalling SK and then installing Palm Desktop,Sidekick98 and lastly TrueSynch info manager (early version that came with my trusty Rex-3, which I still hope to use)
It looks like TrueSynch does not have provision for a USB connection in installation, the only option is COM1 on serial port or COM2 modem.
Is there an easy work-around, a later version of TrueSynch I can use (I have a copy of TrueSynch Desktop v.2.0a that came with my Rex5000.)
Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Dear Loyalist,
Internet sidekick had the ability to synchronise files from a local machine to anywhere across a network.
It was that ability which Starfish turned into TruSync

Sidekick98 and 99 had that facility removed AFAIK.

You could install Internet SDK open the calendar and cardfile in that and sync that way
(BACKUP BACKUP!!);
that's a work around
but it seems a little circuitous!
Anyone else got any ideas??
Regards Jim

Seems a bit cumbersome. Here's another question:
Is there a way to export my Sidekick 98 files in a format that can then be imported by the Palm Desktop program? Or is there any freeware/shareware that will translate data from Sidekick98 to a more Palm-OS friendly format?
tks,

Dear Sidekick Loyalist,

see faq807-1409 for Cardfile Export

As regards the export of the calendar I have to confess a degree of ignorance as that is not a part of Sidekick I have had to Export, nor have I used it extensively.
Though the publish to the Internet option in Sidekick98 opens up a route that could be pursued!

Seems like the Com1 route via an adaptor otherwise it could become too open to glitches with all the different software!
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Regards Jim
