Hi everyone,

I've just started my new job as the IT consultant at a small company in London, they are running a Blackberry Server which synchs with Lotus Notes with about 20 Blackberries on it. They are all working fine but for some reason mine has stopped synching. I only received one e-mail on my BB yesterday, yet my Notes had about 100 e-mails in. Any reason why it would have stopped working? I'm using BB Desktop 3,2. Any help would be much appreciated.

Things to look into:

1. Radio signal may be turned off (if battery strength went too low or poor coverage)

2. Redirection has been disabled - either manually from the handheld, or on the BES. Your admin can look into that.

3. Reset the device. fixes 80% of all problems. ;)

OK, this is a dumb question but...how many different types of reset are there? I knwo there is a small hole on the back of the BB but what kind of reset would this do? Hard reset or soft, and what is the difference? Again, any info would be much appreciated.

OK, I tried all the above and i'm not getting the error message any more but I'm not getting any new mail either...although after wiping the Blackberry it has picked up all my addresses from mu local Notes address book. GPRS is showing in the top right so I assume my signal is OK.

Try the Ctrl Alt Del equivalent. Broadly similar places on the keyboard and it will soft reboot the device.

Thanks for the info Z, very helpful...and no I haven't joined TTUK, what do I have to do to join? Is it in the forums list?

Thanks again,

Reset options:

1. Soft reset ALT-CAP-DEL key combo.
2. Soft reset by removing the battery for a couple of minutes.
3. Soft reset by using the reset button recessed in the back of the unit.
4. Hard reset by entering the wrong password repeatedly.
5. Hard reset using a BES to sen a kill signal to the handheld
6. Hard reset using the Application Loader from the BDM
7. Hard reset using the SDK (I think)

Welcome to Tek-Tips, Dan. ;)
