Synch with Palm or Pocket PC

I've heard several times that we shouldn't synch our dbase 6.5 with a palm or Pocket PC. That to if we want to get GM data to either of these devices, we should go through Outlook first: GM->OL->palm->OL->GM.

Why is that? My boss wants to synch to his ppc, but would prefer to not go through OL as it causes OL and GM alerts to pop up at the same time.

Why is going directly to the pocket device not recommended?

I have no idea.... Can't see why you cant go direct. we'd normally recommend Companionlink (.com) this has a better link and is pretty cheap.

Thanks Richard. How does Companion link handle knowing which contacts to bring over and Calendar. Does it use the GM interface to do the synch or what? IOW: do I create a synch set in GM?
