How do I synchronize an OTM that hasn't been used in ages? Customer have been using the terminal for move add and changes without updating the OTM?

Might want to remove all data listed first.

go to station admin - edit select all
edit/global update
select SSTAT
put trn in old value and new in new value click on add
then click on ok and then ok again

now hit the delete key. this should delete most all records
if you have some record with differen sysnc status, repeat with the correct parameter in old data

once screen is clear,
do the same for the CPND

then back in statioin admin, select syncronize/retrieve/ all

Depending on the size of the switch, Reusser's way would be the way to go....however, you can only delete 100 sets at a time. So if you have a big switch, it is time consuming.

However, if you have a lot of templates built, you are using CDR with an organization heirarchy built, you may not want to get rid of all that work. You can also go into the Station Admin database and do a Retrieve "since". It will default to the last date it was synch'd with the switch. When that is complete, then go do a station reconcile, and that will delete sets out of OTM that are not in the PBX.

I would then do a CPND reconcile from the CPND module, and lastly, do a synch of the employee directory from either the station adminor CPND, whichever one you feel is more accurate.

I need to to that (blush) I always you the tty instead of OTM. Some things just don't work on there.

Thanks y'all! I just want to make sure I don't screw up the switch programming transmitting old records in the OTM. I should back-up the switch first before reconciling.

Reconciling won't send the changes to the PBX.....it uses the PBX as "the master" and makes the changes to the PBX. However, get the updates down to the PBX first as the reconcile basically only checks for the set type and TN, it does not check each individual feature.

Here is a trick I picked up from OTM school.
Before you do this perform a full OTM backup.
go to the
\commondata\"switch"\"switch"\station admin
and delete these files

listmgrdatabase.mdb
name.dat
station.dat

Then do a retrieve all in station administration and corporate directory.
