Can anyone tell me how to sync a Win98 machine to a PDC time server?
The PDC is running Tardis and I created a batch file in Netlogon with the command "net time \\pdc_name /set /yes"
but the 98 machine does not pick up the batch file at login.
I can run the command from DOS with no problem at all...what gives?

TIA,

Tyredtek

Tyredek,

Hi, are any other machines with other desktop OS running the "net time" command correctly??

Have you put the net time command in the logon.bat, (or the file the users use to get all the mappings?).

If the site is not to huge, would putting it the autoexec.bat be a option??

Hi Paulovy,

I created a batch file with the command "net time \\pdc_name /set /yes"
and put it in the PDC's Netlogon.

All machines can run net time from the DOS promp but not the Netlogon batch file...

Autoecec.bat is an option but...125 machines and growing...

Any ideas these machines are not picking up the bat file in netlogon...the bat is also in all the BDC's.

For what it's worth I put a batch file in Win 98 startup folder on each 98 machine...it works ok but I'm sure it is not the correct way to do it....

It is not the correct way to do it, but it works here!

Use a time server on your PDC too cos the batch files are only as good as the server they are syncing to. Try Dimension 4 from freeware.com - really good.

I use the same batch file that map's network drives and it works fine with win98 and win95 machines.
