Hi all,

I have a g450 as a Primary (Network region 1) and another g450 as a Lsp (network region 2). There are 3 t1 in the Primary and 2 t1 in the Lsp. I have programed sync source for the two g450 in the Primary g450 and Lsp g450, is this correct? Or do I only need sync source in the Primary g450?

All the ip phone are register to the Primary. If the Primay fails, how would the ip phone goto the lsp to register? Network region 1 in the Primary have the ip address of the Lsp as a backup. Do I need to change my DHCP scope when the Primary fail?

Thanks you in advance for your help.

you will need a sync source for each gateway. YOu can set it to dafault but if you have T1, then best practice to set it for each g450.

WillKoo, in the "IP-Network-Region" for your main site, page 2, "BACKUP SERVERS(IN PRIORITY ORDER)", these are node names of ESS or LSP sites. This list gets downloaded to the IP phones, after they register... so if the Main CLANs/Processor Ethernet fails to respond, they will look for service from this list.

Do NOT change the DHCP scope. Only put valid CLANs/PE's in the DHCP "MCIPADD=" line, or you will be asking for trouble.

P.S. Each G450 can and should have it's own sync source, "set sync interface primary v<module #>", then "set sync sync source primary", then you should be able to do a "show sync timing"
