Hi,

This is not a very frequent problem but it alwyas comes up when I try to launch Unreal Tournament on my computer. A message in a blue box appears saying "Sync. out of Range". It happened once or twice with Delta Force but I uninstalled it. I need to know what it means and how can I correct it coz' I can't go on uninstalling everything.

Please Help !!

Regards.

I did a search for the error but nothing came up. What was the exact wording of the message?

Or did it really say Sync.? Hewissa

I think its talking about your adapter refresh rate. Have you checked to see what they recommend you run it at.

Yeah It did say "Sync. out of Range". It happens everytime I launch Unreal Tournament or Boot my computer. The computer boots up but Unreal Tournament doesn't launch, however I am able to hear the music of the game.

Change your Video refresh rate on your display adapter settings to a lower rate, or get a better monitor.

Or borrow a better monitor so you can start the game and change the display settings.

(BTW, this sounds a little off topic for a Windows Server 2000 forum.)

Hi,
I had this same problem when opening some games, for example Road to India or FIM Speedway Grand Prix, and wasn't sure what this problem was. Changing the refresh rate as suggested here didn't help. Then I noticed that I forgot to reinstall the monitor driver when I last reinstalled Windows XP. When I updated the driver from default monitor to the one I actually have, everything started working fine!
