ACT 6 database on a Windows 2003 server. Three users sharing the database over a LAN. Two users with ACT and their own database on their laptops that sync with the master database when they come into the office.
Recently started having a problem with meetings being scheduled by laptop users. After they sync with the master database their meetings are all now scheduled with another contact.
After researching the problem, we found that the meetings are scheduled with the last contact that another user scheduled a meeting with.
So, User1 schedules a meeting in the master database with Bill Smith. User2 schedules a meeting with Sarah White in their laptop database. User2 syncs with the master database. Their appointment now shows up as being with Bill Smith. All other information like meeting time and date are correct, just with the wrong contact.
ACT says we need to take master database off 2003 server and put it on a XP machine.
Any ideas? I know syncing is a black art but this configuration has been working for 6 months without this problem.
