Hello,
I would like to make a flash copy of my production server.
We have used flash copy before but i heard that it can be done in another way "sync" so that i would not need to stop hacmp on production machine. Any ideas

'flash copy' is not an AIX term I've heard of - sounds a bit Solaris-like to me.

Are you trying to back up rootvg? Why not take a mksysb backup to tape, file or preferably NIM server?

If you could be more specific in what you are trying to do, more folks will dive in and help out I'm sure.

flashcopy is a term used with Veritas Volume Manager on Solaris.

The term is also used in IBM ESS or DS4000/6000/8000 range of storage servers or in SAN-Volume-Controller.
