Symptoms:

User side:
A user starts to retrieve messages that they have
already retrieved (they are using outlook and do not
have the option switched to leave mail on the server).
At some point their mail hangs and they can no longer
retrieve NEW messages from the sendmail server.

Server side:
New 7.3 install, check_local installed on sendmail as
well. Other users are sending and retrieving without a
problem. If I delete their mail spool and send them a
new message, they no longer have a problem.

I am getting more and more of these. I have to either
delete the offending email, or delete the spool.

Here is what I would like to know:
1) Has anyone had this problem before? What causes it?
What's the fix?

I have isolated the message the seems to jam the mail
spooler for this user and I need to know if it is the
mail or a sendmail configuration issue.

Here is the mail header:
(I changed the IP's and the domains to protect the
semi-innocent).

Any chance this could be caused from your pop3 server? It doesn't sound like sendmail has anything to do with this.
