I have just been told by our supplier that WebClient is not a user intsallable product and that we must have one of their engineers to install it. Can anybody confirm this.

This has also left me in the position that I do not have the keycode for a product that has been purchased, so in effect we have paid for a product that we have not got.

How true that is depends on your level of expertise with Symposium and Windows 2000 server. There is some configuration and testing that must be done with the Symposium. If followed exactly, the instructions in the Web Client NTPs will guide you through the entire installation propcess.
Now, if you have Symposium 4.2, the keycodes and software for Web Client came included, and may be with the rest of your software. However, the Web Client software may not be the most recent, and you would need to get the most recent from the Nortel software board, which requires a Nortel account (not typically something issued to end users).
In my experience, we do the Web Client installation for our customers. Except for one case, and I ended up reinstalling that for them, as they did not follow the instructions in the NTP. At the very least, you should be able to demand the keycodes and software that was shipped, if you want to try it yourself. If you are at Symposium 4.01.07, this does not apply.
