Symposium SMI 4.0 and Crystal reports XI

Hello,

I have just been upgraded from Crystal reports 9 to XI, and since the upgrade, I am unable to run any of the embedded symposium reports from within SMI.

I get the error message:

"NICRPTOM.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program"

There was mention of this in a closed thread here: thread959-677452 - but there was never a solution posted.

I need to have crystal XI - so I can connect to the Business Objects XI server - but I also need Symposium reporting for day-to-day reporting.

Can anyone help?

Are you using the classic client along with Crystal?
IF you are, not sure if this would help (I haven't used Crystal XI), but I always had luck with Crystal 9 by installing it first.
In other words, if you are using the classic client, uninstall it, uninstall Crystal, reboot, install Crystal 9, upgrade it to XI, reboot and then re-install the classic client.
This is only if you are co-locating the client, for SCCS 5.0 or earlier, on the same machine with Crystal.
