hi to everyone

my symposium server does not broadcast in multicast mode but only in unicast.i can see that by running mRcv.exe

this causes some problems to users who use symposium web client(disconnect or lateness)

can someone help me with this problem

(my company network supports multicast)

have you checked the RTR properties?
i'm sure you have, but just want to make sure, because mine running flawlessly (isn't that agents' ADD beeping nice, eh? :-D )
plus there are 2 other places you have to look at:
- server setup config (RSM ip addr)
- multicast & port config

that should do it.
to check your network multicast, you can use the 'multicast trace tool' utility (icertdtrace.exe).
install it in server and agents' PCs.
or the mRcv.exe should also achieve the same thing.
good luck.

Need more info...
Are you using a multi-cast address?
What is the IP address in the RTD Multicast Configuration?
Is IGMP allowed and turned on, on your switches and routers?
IS IGMP snooping enabled or disabled?
What is the TTL?
In the Stream Control window, have you enabled the reports you want sent?
Where are you looking at to see multi-cast leaving your server?
What release and what PEPs?
Co-Res or Stand-alone?
Have you tried resetting the SDP service?

thank you very much both

the problem was something between switches

as mte0910 said something with igmp,it was on but snooping was disabled or something (company network is not in my authority)[bigglasses]

again really thank you both you helped me a lot
