SCCS 5.0/ SU5. To connect oracle database for queries we should install oracle database connector on the Symposium server. Does anyone know where to obtain and how to install that and avoid a server crash?
Also does anybody succesfully operate Symposium server with oracle database connectivity ?
Currently we are happy with the SQL database connection – it works fine, but can it work also with Oracle at the same time ?

Many thanks for any experience,

jj

I use Microsoft ODBC data sources for Oracle with Symposium 5.0 HDX native service.
For connect to Oracle databases throw native Nortel SCCS 5.0 HDX service, your need to install Oracle connectivity components from Oracle Client Suite.
After installation you must edit Windows system PATH and remove from begining of string substring with path to JRE, installed with Oracle connectivity components (approximately of this: "C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\bin").
After that your must reboot Symposium server machine, configure SQL queries to ODBC sources and use it in Symposium scripts :)
If substring to JRE not deleted, Sybase on Symposium server not started after server rebooting.
