Which version of Symposium do you have?
As of release 4.2 you can export the backup directly to a network drive, although Symposium still sees it as "LocalTape"
On the SCCS server under Backup / restore you insert the remote destination, but remember that a local user of your SCCS server (or CCMS) should have "modify" access to this remote location
