Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-039
Vulnerability in Plug and Play Could Allow Remote Code Execution and Elevation of Privilege (899588)

We've been instructed by corporate IT to apply this patch to our Symposium Call Center Server 4.2 and Web Client Server 4.5 TONIGHT (short notice!). I have a Symposium patch compatibility list from my vendor dated July 12, but since this patch was issued on August 9th its not listed. I've asked my vendor for an updated list but I doubt I'll get it in time for the install tonight. By chance does any one know if this update is OK to install on SCCS 4.2 and/or Web Client 4.5? Thanks for any info!

Greg

Found it on Nortel's site: Yes, you can apply the patch. They've apparently re-named Symposium "Contact Center Manager Server" for some reason.

Get that patch on ASAP -- it has impacted quite a few Symposiums that I know of.

When this patch is installed is it requiring a restart?

I'm sure it will require a reboot to take effect. We're applying 13 updates tonight and will reboot afterwards.

Greg

I apply this patch to Symposium Express 4.2 server and reboot server. All ok, after rebooting Symposium worked correctly ;)

Nortel has been updating all their information regarding "symposium" and replacing it with the new future name of "contact center".
