Howdy, Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. We have recently migrated from MerMail to Call Pilot. All is well with the exception of Symposium access treatment. We have converted 5 previous sites over the last 5 months with minimal problems. The other sites have been on same versions, same PEP level, etc.
All access ports can be acquired, but fail to treat calls. The access link via TCP doesn't seem to establish between CP and SCCS. We get the following CP error code: Access link between CallPilot and SCCS is down due to loss of polling. The recovery action states to restart the CallPilot Access Protocol Emulator service.
I've seen similar problems in the past, usually we can restart this Access service on CP and also restart the MAS link handler port #2 service on Symposium and everything is happy. Sometimes we also have to restart Symposium VSM. No such luck this time. I'm so frustarted at this point...Nortel is grasping at straws. Thanks in advance for any help.

Picklemogg,

did you get a fix on this?

we have exactly the same problem

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Fixed it..... another round of reboots and ini's seemed to do the trick....

Hey Mikeyb123,
Still no luck on our end. We've tried numerous reboots and ini's as well. Was there a particular order/timing in which the reboots/ini's took place to get this resolved. Thanks so much.

I just went to CP 4.0. If for any reason I have CallPilot or Symposium down I have to take both servers down, bring Symposium up first and then CallPilot. If I don't the Access channels in CallPilot show up as regular channels under the channel monitor. (No green bars)
(This was instructions sometime ago but I never had any problems)
Per vender Nortel said this is the way it has to be done. Ridiculous I must say, but it is the only thing that works to get both servers up correctly.

I guess we got lucky....I think we did the symposium first then cp but we ini'd the switch first

Yo Mikeyb,
Thanks for the info. We ini'd the switch and then rebooted SCCS and CP and the magic happened. We failed to ini the swicth the last couple of tries. Not sure why this would be our only site out of 6 that we would need to ini the switch in order for access to work? Who cares at this point? Thanks again.

I case the power goes out it is helpful to extend the boot recovery time on the CP OS to 5 minutes to give SCCS time to come up before the CP does so they automatically come up in the correct order. This is a old trick but it works out well.
