Anyone using it? esp. the "redundant server" bit Any thoughts or comments?

We're looking to try this but our maintainer isn't sure whether they'll flog teh redundant bit.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

TBH

I dont think Nortel have done the redundant side properly, in that it is a warm standby. You have to manually switch across to it. This could be done in 4.x by haviong duplicate servers and makiong sure that both are kept in synch by using backup and restore, or backing up the live to the warm.

Considering what Nortel could have done I think they have fallen well short.

There is very little in v5 that grabs our attention excpet for being able to report on not ready.

Yes, it does look a bit of a piss poor attempt...We've just got some initial pricing in and I could pay my morgage off a couple of times.....

Is it officially released now? Or are the people using it the Beta testers. If it's avalible, anyone know if it is availible in the UK yet?

Thanks.

BT are still not sure if they are going to general release the product yet (or the redundant bit...)

Maybe ** are trying to find a new bunch of excuses why it's our fault the server has gone wrong (must be your routers, it's a compaq server, faulty cables, tried rebooting etc etc)...Or are they trying to still sell 4.2 then sell you the upgrade in 3 months time to 5?
Ooo so cynical...

Stu..
