Symposium 5 and getting data from Access table

We are trying to get access data from a different server. We have config'd ODBC and in the DIW (data integration wizard) we can send the sql query and get SUCCESS and the data responses. The problem is that when we do the SEND REQUEST HAI_APPID SQL_STMT_NO the response we get back (we use provider.exe to get the variables returned) id Failed. Is there an inferface between the DIW and the script that we are missing? Does anyone have an idea on how to make this work? The idea of this is to be able to turn on and off certain messages to be played to the caller based on the data in the access database.
