Our symposium 4.0 server bit the dust and has to be replaced and we need to go to 5.0 ASAP. Does anyone know if you need to use the web clint which is another server we need to purchase and deploy or can we just add the 5.0 server and install the client from the cd to get us up and running quickest?

mrf150,

The answer is yes. You can use the fat client to access SCCS 5.0. In fact, SCCS 4.0, 4.2 and 5.0 are all using the same client cd. The only difference is that for accessing SCCS 4.2/5.0 you have to install additional patches on the client machines.

My personal opinion is that Nortel direction is to slowly get rid of the fat client. That's why some of the new features (not ready reason code, dialled number etc) are not available on the fat client.

The choice is yours :)
