Hi All,

Great forum, and need a bit of advise if possible?

At present, we run symposium 4.2, and am wondering if its possible to load the client application onto a citrix server, and publish the application in a citrix environment?

The symposium server is in one contact centre, and i am looking at giving access to management in another building, 300 miles away from the contact centre, to the Real Time displays and other Symposium client functions.

I have tried the fat client on the desktops in the other building, but due to WAN restrictions, it seems citrix is the best way forward.

Any one tried this sucesfully?

Thanks in advance

Off-topic a bit; have you tried the web client instead? -Matt

Yes you may use Citrix. However be aware that Nortel will not attempt to troubleshoot any problems that maybe incountered. Nortel's offical remote support tool is PC Anywhere using RAS on the server. But I have used the Citrix solution before and it works,, ok!

Good luck,
TWM

thanks guys,

Matt, have looked at the web client, and at present we have an internal network issue, in the fact that we cant enable multicast traffic on the LAN switches (this will be corrected when we have new lan switches installed later this year) but it doesnt help with the present situation!
I have had a quick read up, as the initial version of web client we purchased was 4.2 (i think) and if i remember rightly, Web 4.5 will work via Unicast?

If we can use the web client using Unicast, then this will solve the issue i think, as it will keep our network team happy (i have been told that unicast traffic will trash the switch) but am a little unsure if unicast will provide all the stuff we need?

Thanks for your reply too! I understand that there will be no support from Nortel, but all i want to do, is load the 4.2 Client on the server, and publish the application. Not being big headed, but i dont think much support will be needed on the client, once its working, it should be OK ( i think!)

Are you saying that you have a citrix server setup with the client on already? Does it work OK for you?

At present, we have a strange concept, in the fact that the C: and D: drives of our citrix servers, or actually named 'M' and 'N'. Reason for this is so any connected clients, retain their origional C and D drive mappings, and i have struggled to load symposium client on our current citrix farm with this config. (i think symposium is a bit 'fickle' when it comes to none standard drive letters ect!

What i propose to do, is build a clean citrix server, with normal drive mappings, and try it from there. is this how yours is setup?

Again, sorry for the long posts guys, and thanks for the advice so far!
