Hi Everyone, We currently have an SNMP system that monitors all of our servers for issue and when an issue comes up it automatically opens a ticket in our queue alerting us of the issue. What I am wondering is if we can set up SNMP to listen to Symposium so we can be alerted on Symposium issues..for example if we have calls going direct. I know I can listen for SNMP traps coming off of the operating system but would like to listen to alerts coming from Symposium. Any assistance you can offer would be great! Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks,
Mike C.

Mike,

The step by step guide can be found in SCCS 4.2 Install & Maint Guide page 489.

Anyway, here is the summary:
1. Configure windows SNMP Service on the Server
- community name : public
- add the NMS IP Address to the Trap Destination list
2. Select the type of events to be forwarded
- run the SNMPFilterCnfg.exe from the D:\Nortel\bin folder
- Select the level of filtering (critical, major, minor etc)
3. Configure the NMS
- load the MIB files (nt-ref.mib and nbflt.mib) from the D:\nortel\data to the NMS

:)
