Hi, I have been having symonview problems for ages. Sometimes users see only half of my skillsets, sometimes all they get is "waiting for server" I have multicast enabled and a sniffer trace verifies subscribing to the multicast group. Also, if a user is on 100mbps ethernet they will always see the whole list of skillsets, on 10 they will usually not. Any advise about how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated. - mike

Certainly sounds like networking issues.
Are the 10mbs people on different subnets or the same?
Are you using hubs or switches?
The 10mbs people are they 10/half or full, can they be changed to 100/full or 10/full?
There may be problems with excessive collisions happening on the subnet.
Make sure that your A/V is up to date and machines are swept clean.

It doesn't matter if the 10mbps users are on the same subnet as the Symonview server or not, same results. This is a switched network with cards that only support 10 half in 99% of the building. Do you think that collisions would cause the limited skillsets? What do you think about the "Waiting for server" error?
