When I select a "symbol" in Word XP (SP3)
and I print it, it comes out as another symbol.
What can this be?

symbols print as something else

Most likely the printer, but we need far more information. What model printer are you using? Are you using TT or PS fonts?
WHen you view in Print Preview, do the symbols look OK?
Have you checked that you are using the latest printer driver?
Is this ALL sysmbols or just a select few?
