Symbol PDT 6842 RF Scanner

I'm having trouble getting the above scanner to read bar codes. It shoots the laser, but doesnt read any bar codes. I've checked the user guide for the scanner and have searched the Symbol website for a fix. Any suggestions?

Try scanning the "default" factory setting for the scanner? I had the same problems with a W/A 5400/B-02. Scanned the default and everything worked great.
